Rules for formatting a research report

The report format is only applicable to Tribhuvan University.

Referencing a table or figure
TableSources should be in an italicized form with left indentation; any further information regarding table should be mentioned as a note just beneath the table after indicating source (if any) Source: Business Research Methods, 2010
FigureSources should be in an italicized form with left indentation; any further information regarding table should be mentioned as a note just beneath the figure  after indicating source (if any) Source: Business Research Methods, 2010
Table and Figure Numbering
Table
Table numbering should be done such as 1.1, 2.1 where the former indicates Chapter, and Latter indicates table number in a particular chapter.
It should be in the format below: (Bold and Center and above the table)

FigureFigure numbering should be done such as 1.1, 2.1 where the former indicates Chapter, and Latter indicates table number in a particular chapter. It should be in the format below: (Bold and Left indented and below the figure) Figure 1.1: Title of Figure
Page numbering
Preliminary SectionPreliminary sections: Declaration… to Abbreviation should be numbered as i, ii, iii i.e. in roman numeric form, and it must be presented in Table of Contents in italic form.
Main SectionThe main sections include all chapters should be numbered as 1, 2, 3 …
Supplementary sectionsBibliography onwards must not have page numbers
Special APA ruleThe beginning of each chapter should not contain page numbers.
Language
Language in ReportExcept in Preliminary Section; forbid using a first-person pronoun (I, We, You, Me, Us) and active voice
References
ReferencesShould be based on APA or any format mentioned by University.
Annex or Appendix
AnnexAny supplementary material should be presented in this section with proper numbering such as Annex 1, Annex 2…
